The overall volume of commercial activity in the Tunisian commercial seaports reached 30.7 million tons in 2018, an increase of 7% compared to 2017.
This increase is in the order of 2% for import activities and 22% for export activities.
In 2018, A recovery was confirmed in the commercial ports activities in comparison with 2010, despite the estimated annual loss of 2.5 million tons in the volume activity, explained by the loss recorded in the performence of the Tunisian Chemical Group products (GCT).
It is recalled that in 2017, the total volume of traffic across commercial seaports in Tunisia amounted to 28.6 million tons against 29.2 million tons in 2016, a decrease of 2%.
The traffic of goods to import during the same period recorded a slight decrease of around 2% to reach 18.3 million tons against 18.7% of tons in 2016.
On the other hand, the traffic of goods to export in 2017 recorded a slight increase of 1%, reaching 9.9 million tons against 9.8 million tons in 2016.
