As part of its efforts to enhance service quality, the Merchant Marine and Ports Office OMMP underwent an ISO 9001:2015 compliance audit covering all port services and merchant marine activities. The audit was conducted by the certification body AFAQ AFNOR, resulting in the award of the compliance certificate.
This achievement reflects a strong commitment to upholding the principles of quality and good governance, while also raising the standards of port services and merchant maritime activities, in line with the recommendations of the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
The certification follows a comprehensive audit process that covered all port operations: port traffic, vessel reception, port exploitation, services at passenger terminals, and merchant marine activities such as seafarer licensing and organization, fleet management, and vessel maritime safety. It also included leadership and support functions.
In recent years, and as part of the transport sector quality strategy developed by the Ministry of Transport, OMMP has implemented an integrated action plan focused on :
- Improving port infrastructure and equipment ;
- Supporting digital transformation and modernizing work methods ;
- Enhancing service quality and safety ;
- Strengthening maritime safety and port security measures in line with international standards;
- Developing human resources through continuous training programs in quality, safety, and logistics.
This certification serves as proof of compliance with international quality management standards, demonstrating the OMMP’s commitment to implementing an effective system that ensures high-quality services meeting the expectations of professionals, including transport operators and maritime service providers.
