The Merchant Marine and Ports Authority  (OMMP) receives its first maritime tugboat equipped with advanced technologies.

The Merchant Marine and Ports Authority OMMP received, on Friday, September 26, 2025, at the port of La Goulette, the first tugboat “BULLA REGIA” from a set of six maritime tugboats that will strengthen the services of commercial maritime ports and improve their efficiency.

This investment, costing approximately 168 million dinars, aims to renew the fleet of maritime tugs and ensure the entry and exit of ships, while maintaining the safety and security of port facilities, and being ready to intervene quickly when needed, as well as providing rescue, towing, search, and rescue services.

This is part of the energy and ecological transition and the logistical development of international commercial ships, while controlling operating costs, and also contributes to the national system for protecting Tunisian coasts.
It is planned to receive the other tugboats in stages until the end of January 2026.
