Mr Foued Othmen new President and CEO of the OMMP

Appointed on 10 January 2022 at the head of the Office of Merchant Marine and Ports Mr Foued Othmen holds a degree in Computer Engineering in 1987 and a diploma in Port Information Systems and Maritime Transport from the University of Antwerp in 1995 as well as a diploma in modern port management, maritime transport and international trade and a Master’s degree in logistics obtained in 2010 from the Ecole des Hautes Etudes de Bruxelles.

Mr Othmen has held the position of Head of Unit for Information Systems at Cepex, Head of Administrative, IT and Operations Department at the Port of Gabes, Coordinator of the UNCTAD Train for Trade programme for commercial ports. He also chaired the office of support of exporters in Tunisian ports then head of the commercial division at the port of Rades and director of operations of the container terminal and rolling units at the same port before his appointment as director of the port of rades and national coordinator of the the Euro-Mediterranean Sea highway project (Rades-Marseille-Genoa).

In July 2011 Mr. Othmen was appointed head of the Office of Merchant Marine and Ports, a position he held until May 2012 before being called upon to chair the Mediterranean Training Institute for Maritime Professions. In June 2014 he was appointed head of the Tunisian stevedoring and handling company STAM and then project manager in the cabinet of the Ministry of Transport before his appointment as DGA in charge of ports at the OMMP.

The new President and CEO of the OMMP has extensive experience in the port and maritime field through his multiple participations in seminars, conferences and training cycles covering various aspects including the management of major port works and services, ISPS code, creation and development of terminals and logistics zones, supply chain,  term management ……
